We believe that design can make all the difference, especially when it comes to creating impactful, world-class brand identities. Our collaboration with Backpack Bed for Homeless is a testament to how thoughtful design can elevate a brand and its mission.
Backpack Bed is a unique product—a backpack that ingeniously transforms into an all-weather outdoor camping bed, complete with a built-in insulated mattress. It is light, tough, and dependable, providing essential protection for those in need. Recognizing the importance of this life-saving product, Backpack Bed engaged Musubi to develop a brand identity that would resonate with their mission and values while also appealing to a broader audience.
Our approach at Musubi was to craft a brand identity that not only highlighted the practicality and innovation of the Backpack Bed but also underscored the humanitarian impact it has on the lives of the homeless. We designed a cohesive visual language that reflects the brand’s commitment to providing dignity and relief to those who are most vulnerable.
In addition to the brand identity, we also developed an innovative point-of-sale (POS) flat pack retail stand. This stand was designed to be as functional and versatile as the Backpack Bed itself, offering a space-saving, eye-catching display solution that enhances the product’s presence in retail environments.
The impact of our work together has been significant. The Backpack Bed is now distributed by over 100 organisations across Australia, providing relief to those who have been turned away from shelters. The success of this initiative has not only garnered international attention but also resulted in global requests for the product, further solidifying the brand’s reputation and reach.
